WHAT you’ve been saying on our Facebook page:
●● WARNING ‘some or all of Lancashire’ could enter tier 3 soon (October 12):
Peter Diggles: Funny how nothing in south is threatened...
Robert Gunn: These restrictions are going to have little effect when it’s education centres that are the main cause. And most pubs will stay open because they serve food. Insane rules.
●● FAMILY ‘batty’ about Halloween, but early displayed vandalised (October 9):
Tony Mccarthy: No surprise there
Lorna Louise Campbell: This is what we saw yesterday x
Janet Campbell: I know, was going to tell you when I saw this early, some people have to spoil other people’s fun.
Eileen Mortimer Webster: What a shame, I’ve enjoyed seeing the display. There’s some miserable folk spoiling it for everyone else.
●● MP Jake Berry reveals vision for Bacup “to become a Hebden Bridge style shopping experience” (October 16):
Rick Woodall: Only one thing can help Bacup and that’s transport links. Lorraine Brumpton: Dream on Jake, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear!
May Hazeldine: I would rather go to shop in Bacup than Rochdale, feel safer, people more friendly, just needs a facelift
William Hodgson: How far is a million gonna go? Not even a drop in Bacup’s ocean.
Barbara Moran: Sadly some of Bacup’s buildings are not of the same heritage as Hebben Bridge hence it isn’t as inviting on first impression but that shouldn’t stop it having a facelift.
Morgan Philip Rothwell: Every journey starts with a single step...good work Jake.
Alan Richardson: Bacup is too cut off geographically.
Karen Hughes: That’s very good news but surprised about the Hebden Bridge comment; I’d have thought Ramsbottom a more worthy comparison (and it’s in Lancashire).
Sharon Simcock: If the fountain was in Hebden Bridge it be working. Just saying...
Jayne Whitehead: It’s a positive. Bacup already better than 3 years ago when I first moved up here.
Rachel Whippy: Except there’s limited public transport, so unless you have a car or are on a bus route it’s not easy to get to. There needs to be more of a pull than a BNM and Morrisons.
