Lancashire FA under fire after football cancelled at last minute (see page 3):

Elaine Potts: No sense to this at all bearing in mind that grassroots football has resumed in Greater Manchester, which like Lancashire is a tier 3 region. Other sports are allowed to continue, gyms for example can open indoors but not football outdoors in a safe and controlled environment. Many of the coaches have spoken out about the mental health of their players. Adam Millward: Treating us like mugs, how long will it take before people start to realise what they doing to us, meanwhile in London nothing happening. Melissa Phillipson:

Where’s the logic, once again Lancashire suffers! You don’t see any other tier 3 area doing this!

Caroline Hereward: This is ridiculous especially as youth sport is exempt from any restrictions in all tiers. Karen King: Absolutely ridiculous...joke. Emma Mills: Yet all other children’s activities can go ahead but not football.

Robert Ibbotson: But you can go to a garden centre and religious settings.

Carrie McGuire: My 4-year-old nephew was so excited to start his football again! Only to be told last weekend it isn’t going to happen now. He was heartbroken!
