MRS Sheila Laban, of Newchurch Road, Stackstead­s, died at the

She enjoyed holidays in Blackpool at The Lyndene Hotel, and liked her Sunday runs in the minibus to the seaside, Cleveleys, Southport, and the Lake District.

She enjoyed dancing and bingo, and liked the odd drink.

She leaves partner Eddy, sons Stephen and Paul, and grandchild­ren Lauren, Ellie and Brooke.

The funeral was held on Wednesday, December 9, at Holy Trinity Church, Tunstead, led by Rev Derek Allen, followed by burial at Bacup Cemetery.

MISS Vera Hemsley died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on

Sunday, November 15, aged 68.

Vera joined the Army when leaving school (Leabank).

She served both in Germany & Cyprus.

She left the Army to take up Nursing and was a Sister at Rossendale General for many years. She was also a Nursing Sister on Burnley District for several years. She then became a Mobile Warden until she retired.

She leaves behind all of her caring Spirituali­st Friends.

Vera’s funeral took place on Saturday, November 28 at Burnley Crematoriu­m, where a service to celebrate Vera’s life was led by Adam Barry CSNU.

No flowers were requested, with donations being kindly received if desired in memory of Vera for Rossendale Hospice. This can either be done online to Rossendale Hospice directly or via the funeral director Sharon Aspinall for Agápe funeral service, Forget-Me-Not Chapel, Schofield Street, Waterfoot.
