MR Richard Geoffrey Fox, of Priory Close, Newchurch, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and two daughters on Friday, December 4, aged 76.

Richard worked as a solicitor for Bury Metropolit­an Council and latterly at a small family practice in Bacup.

Richard took early retirement, enabling him to spend more time with Rosemary and on his interests, which included photograph­y of steam trains, birds, butterflie­s and other wildlife.

He also enjoyed spending time on the East Lancs Railway and visits to the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and Morecambe Bay.

Richard was a keen member and supporter of the East Lancs Railway for at least 40 years and especially enjoyed photograph­ing the visiting engines.

Richard leaves his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Rosemary, his much loved two daughters Caroline and Catherine, sons-in-law Mike and Steve, and grandchild­ren Emma, Sam, Josh and Louis.

The funeral will be held on Friday, December 18, at 1.45pm at Burnley Crematoriu­m, by invite only due to covid restrictio­ns.

Family flowers only. Donations are kindly being received for the Rossendale Hospice c/o the funeral director.

Sheila was a dinner lady at St Joseph’s Primary School, Stackstead­s, and a bar lady at the Hare & Hounds, Stackstead­s.
