Kind-hearted students donate hampers of hope
SCORES of Christmas hampers have been donated by students at Haslingden High School. The school’s annual hamper collection has been inundated, with some students bringing in their own personal hampers packed full of goodies and others being put together from individual donations by groups and forms.
Teacher Lisa Southee and Assistant Headteacher Elaine Edyvean organised the collection and distribution, and were astounded by the volume of hampers collected in school.
Lisa said: “I dropped off hampers in Manchester at Emmeline’s Pantry, more went to the RAFT Foundation Charity and to Maundy Relief.
“We have homeless packages ready to go and made dog hampers, too. “We’ve reached out to the local community and d asked for nomina- tions of people who deserve a treat, and we have lots of f lovely gifts that are going to individuals and some spe- cial packages for r care homes.
