Five arrests as cannabis plants found
FIVE people have been arrested as police have uncovered a cannabis grow.
Officers from Lancashire Constabulary were at the scene of Railway Street in Bacup on Wednesday morning, December 16 where the grow was found.
Police say a ‘large cannabis grow’ was found at a premises along the road at around 12.45am, containing hundreds of plants.
Five people have been arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and remain in custody.
They include a 42-year-old man from the Smethick area of the West Midlands and four men, aged 39, 29, 43 and 28, all of no fixed address.
A spokesperson for Rossendale Police said: “Officers from Rossendale Police are currently dismantling a large cannabis grow at a premises on Railway Street, Bacup.
“Five people have been arrested in relation to the search and remain in police custody.”
A Lancashire Constabulary spokesperson added: “Officers attended an address in Railway Road, Bacup, at around 12.45am today (December 16) and found a substantial cannabis set-up, containing hundreds of plants.
“Five men were arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and remain in custody.
“They are a 42-year-old man from the Smethick area of the West Midlands and four men, aged 39, 29, 43 and 28, all of no fixed address.
