MISS Margaret Valerie Maxwell, of Newchurch Road, Rawtenstal­l, passed away on Saturday, December 5, aged 82.

She had worked as a bank clerk during her career.

Her hobbies included a

MR Gerald Rawson, of Hammond Avenue, Stackstead­s, died on Thursday, December 10, at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 94.

He leaves his beloved wife Sheila, of 71 years.

After leaving the army he worked as a spinner in the cotton industry.

In his early years he loved his motorbikes on which he and Sheila would travel to the South Coast on holiday. In later years they used to enjoy holidays in Scarboroug­h.

He was a big fan of music, especially Frank Sinatra and brass bands, and used to love to sing and dance.

MRS Audrey Haworth, of Jubilee Court,

Haslingden, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, at

Pendleside Hospice after an illness borne bravely and with dignity.

She was 85.

Audrey was the dearly-loved wife of John, mum of Kathryn, Christophe­r and Gillian, mother-in-law of Michael and John, and sister of Kathleen. She was a much-loved grandma to Emma, Charlotte, Sarah, Elliot, Daniel, Joseph and Matthew, and sister-inlaw, cousin, aunt and friend to many.

She worked for many years on the maternity unit at Rossendale General Hospital and in her younger days danced in many local amateur dramatic production­s.

Audrey was an active member of Kay Street Baptist Church and the dance group at St Mary’s Chambers. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Audrey’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the following people for their care of Audrey during her illness: The medical team of Dr Moujaes and Dr Mannan, Haslingden; Dr Adiyodi and team at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, including Hazel and Lisa; the staff at the infusion suite at Burnley General Hospital and both the Rossendale Hospice Homecare team and all at Pendleside Hospice for their superb care and support.

Audrey’s funeral will be held at 1.45pm on Tuesday, December 22, at Kay Street Baptist Church, Rawtenstal­l, followed by a committal at Accrington Crematoriu­m at 3pm.

Due to current COVID restrictio­ns these services will be by invitation only.

Family flowers only, but donations in Audrey’s memory, if desired, to Pendleside Hospice (please mention Audrey’s name), or via Johnson, Durning and Woods Funeral Directors, 8 Pleasant Street, Haslingden.
