Firm leaves pupils tyred out
THORN Primary School, in Bacup received more than 40 tyres from Ramsbottom Tyre and Exhaust, to use for their Forest School activities.
The school wanted to say a huge thank you to them for not only supplying a great resource but for delivering the tyres straight to the Forest School.
This half term, the school’s Y5 pupils are working on the Art in
Nature strand of the Forest School Curriculum and their challenge was to use natural and manmade materials to build bridges.
School spokesperson Nadya Carter said: “As you can imagine, they were thrilled to be able to construct their bridges using the tyres. They worked up a sweat rolling them up the hill and into position but thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of building bridges with their team. We are also going to use the tyres to build towers and
Christmas trees in the final week before Christmas.”
