Smart route to green future

-

OUT and about the last few days (social distanced of course) it’s been quite impressive to see the new Witch Way buses on the road.

Transdev, the operator of the X43 route, has clearly invested in a very smart new fleet of buses for the crucial ManchesterRawtenstall-Burnley bus route.

I’ve yet to travel on one - due to the general rules about only travelling when you have to - but as positive statements of intent from an important business go, it’s a very positive one.

Once the pandemic is over, the assumption has to be that many people will start travelling on a regular basis again.

That restart is an ideal opportunity for people to establish new commuting patterns and it’s in the best interests of everyone to try and use public transport when we can in the future.

Investment in public transport is therefore very welcome - and hopefully one which will pay off for Transdev in the years to come, and one for the borough generally if we can become more green.
