PATRICIA ROBINSON

PATRICIA Robinson, of Haslingden, passed away peacefully at home, after a short illness, aged 77.

She leaves sons Graham and Mark, daughter-in-law Wendy, grandchildren Sophie, Colin, Danny, Kerry, Devin, Thomas and Liam, together with great-grandchildren Maddi, Maila and Masion.

Patricia was born in St Anne’s where she had various jobs including working in Civil Service at the Land Registry in Lytham, before taking up nursing.

She worked at Lytham Memorial Hospital and Rossendale General Hospital upon moving to Haslingden.

She continued to work up to the age of 75, keeping herself busy, and for the love of the job.

Patricia was an active member of St Peter’s Church, Laneside, and in her spare time she enjoyed knitting and reading.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral service took place on Wednesday, December 23, at St Peter’s Church, Laneside followed by a committal at Accrington Crematorium, officiated by Revd. Stephen Brown.

JOHN SMITH

MR John Thomas Smith, of Haslingden, died peacefully in hospital on Saturday, December 19, aged 72.

John served in the 14/20th King’s Hussars, travelling the world at a young age.

He was a tank driver and learnt his trade as a Mechanic.

Upon leaving the Army he worked at Gilbraith’s in Accrington, then as a HGV lorry driver for over 20 years, a job which he loved.

He leaves his brother Frank, and three nieces Maryanne, Wendy and Stevie.

John had a special place in his heart for his great-niece Georgia and great-nephew Hudson.

He will be sadly missed by everybody who knew him.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday, December 30 at 2pm at Haslingden Cemetery.
