Band appeals for financial support from public

-

A VALLEY brass band has launched a Christmas appeal for donations to ensure the future of the group.

Stacksteads Brass Band in Rossendale, Lancashire have launched their ‘a band is for life, not just for Christmas’ appeal.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic the band have not been able to play together since early March.

All rehearsals, concerts and music events had to be cancelled.

As a not-for-profit organisation, the band relies on money raised through concerts and donations - without this vital income and the generosity of supporters the group will be unable to continue to operate.

Their band room on Newchurch Road, Stacksteads also requires significant renovation and utility bills still need to be paid and the upkeep and repair of many instruments is still a necessity.

Christmas is a time of year when the band generates the majority of its income through generous donations from its supporters.

This year they are unable to take to the streets, supermarkets, Christmas Fairs or pubs to spread the joy of Christmas music.

So the group are calling on supporters and the public to spare the few pounds they would normally throw into collection buckets, and donate online.

You can donate via the GoFundeMe page – search for ‘Stacksteads Band Christmas Appeal.’
