FRED WARD KEITH LORD

MR Fred Ward, of Haslingden, passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, aged 74 .

Fred leaves a large loving family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A special thank you goes to the care given to Fred from the nursing team.

The funeral service and committal will take place on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 12.20pm at Accrington Crematoriu­m.

MR Keith Lord, of Helmshore Road, Helmshore, died on Wednesday, December 16 at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 83.

Husband of the late Eunice, and father of the late Jason, he leaves two sons and two daughters, Nathan, Melanie, Sarah and Aaron, 16 grandchild­ren, and 16 great-grandchild­ren.

He was manager of a cotton mill (Barcharist Mill) in Rochdale before retirement.

Keith ran the Judo Club at Haslingden Sports Centre for a number of years.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, with service at St Thomas’s Church, Helmshore at 11am, followed by interment at Haslingden Cemetery, officiated by Fr. David Stephenson.

BRIAN BARON

MR Brian Baron, of Hambleton, formerly of Springhill Villas,

Stackstead­s, died on Saturday, December 19 after a short illness, in Blackpool Victoria hospital, aged 67.

A service will be held at 12noon on Thursday, January 7, at Preesall cemetery.

Born in Bacup, he attended St Mary’s RC and St Ambrose RC schools.

He was an engineer and worked for Perplas at their Bacup and Bradford works for many years.

Brian was a lifelong fan and season ticket holder at Burnley Football Club, and followed the Clarets home and away for over 50 years.

He was also a swimming coach.

Brian married Kath on June 8, 1973 and is now reunited with her forever.

He leaves his children Mark and Nicola, grandsons Jake and Ashton, son-in-law Craig and Mark’s partner Julia.

He was a loving father and grampie and will be sadly missed everyday by his extended family and friends.

ROBERT HENRY

MR Robert Henry, of Stackstead­s, Bacup, died on Sunday, December 27 at The Laurels Nursing Home, Bacup, aged 92.

Robert was a HGV driver and retired from Cormar Carpets.

He was a member of Burnley Football Club, and still watched Burnley and enjoyed most sports.

He also enjoyed walking and bowling.

He leaves wife Jean, children Denise and husband Peter, Adrian and wife Susan, grandchild­ren Laura, Matthew, Richard, Rachel, and Lucinda, greatgrand­children Nathan, Amalie, Aron, Jorgie, Lucia, Thea, and Harlow, six nephews and three nieces.

A Celebratio­n of Life service will be held on Friday, January 8, at 2.30pm at Burnley Crematoriu­m, led by Phillip Norris.

Due to Covid restrictio­ns, numbers allowed in the Crematoriu­m Chapel are limited. Regrettabl­y, therefore, the service will be for family only.
