Police chase duo through snow after stolen car find

POLICE chased a man and teenager through snow during the early hours after finding two stolen vehicles.

Officers found the stolen cars on Lincoln Street, Haslingden, at around 1.15am on Friday, January 8.

Two males were seen running from the cars, a stolen BMW and Mercedes, as officers made chase on foot, in the snow.

Police managed to detain the pair, with subsequent arrests being made.

A 20-year-old from Accrington and a 16-year-old from Haslingden are in custody, police have confirmed.

The cars had both been reported stolen from burglaries in Greater Manchester and have now been recovered.

Officers say that they are also looking for two further males, who were seen in the area at the time, that they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “If you saw anything, or have any information, please contact police on 101 quoting log number 0058 of January 8.”
