MR Norman Driver, of Bacup, passed on Wednesday, December 30 in Blackburn R.I. at the age

MRS Jean Bartrick nee Raby, of Bacup, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Tuesday, January 5 at the age of 74, from a non-Covid related illness.

Born in Bacup, she met her husband, Brian, at the age of 16 when they became pen friends. They married five years later and enjoyed 58 happy years together. She leaves three daughters, Deborah, Tina and Sarah and three sons-in-law, Pete, Phil and Andy. She also leaves eight grandchild­ren and one great-grandson.

She was a very keen church goer and a long serving member of Christ Church, Bacup.

She worked as a slipper machinist and as a shop assistant in a wool shop before taking early retirement to spend time with her grandchild­ren, whom she loved dearly.

Her hobbies included knitting, puzzles and quizzes. She also enjoyed foreign holidays, especially visiting Las Vegas. She enjoyed many cruises and caravan holidays with Brian, her daughters and grandchild­ren.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 20 at Holy Trinity, Stackstead­s at 10.15am, followed by a short service at Burnley Crematoriu­m at 11.30am, led by Derek Allan. Family flowers only with donations if desired to Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary.

Due to Covid restrictio­ns numbers allowed in the Crematoriu­m Chapel are limited. Regrettabl­y, therefore, the service will be for family only.
