Police hit dirt bikers with Covid fines

-

A RAFT of Covid-19related fines have been issued to dirt bikers using a popular attraction during the current national lockdown.

Officers from Rossendale Police issued four fixed penalty notices to individuals who had travelled out of their local areas to use their off- road bikes at Lee Quarry.

The Bacup attraction is a popular destination for dirt bike enthusiasts, but for the time being officers are acting vigilantly to ensure people stay local and adhere to national guidelines.

Police issued the fines on Sunday, January 17, and have since warned the public to only leave home for ‘essential journeys’.

Fines will be issued if people do not listen to the advice, Rossendale Police said.
