HERBERT CALDWELL KEVIN TIPLING

MR Herbert Caldwell, of Haslingden, known as Bert, passed away peacefully at Blackburn Hospital with family by his side on Wednesday, January 13, aged 82.

One of seven siblings, Bert was a devoted father of Ian, Carole and Claire.

Treasured grandfathe­r to Kieran, Raven, Phoenix, Harry, Darcie and of the late Declan, he also leaves son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Roanne, brother Jack and his wife Shirley, along with nephews and nieces.

Bert worked for CWS Footwear, then Lambert Haworth’s before retiring.

He enjoyed sports, mainly football and cricket, in his youth playing for the local cricket team, still treasuring his trophy for his 10 wickets for 42. In his later years he loved a good quiz.

His funeral will take place on Monday, February 1 at St Mary’s Church, Haslingden followed by a burial at Grane Road Cemetery,

MR Kevin Tipling, of Woodhead Close, Waterfoot, passed away peacefully in hospital on Tuesday, January 19, aged 69.

During his working life Kevin spent 11 years in the Royal Artillery (22 Locating Battery). He also had a variety of other jobs including being a cash delivery driver, then a trainer, a CCTV monitoring supervisor, was a qualified auditor and most recently was employed as a caravan engineer at Rossendale Mobile Caravan Services.

In his spare time he greatly enjoyed travelling the UK in his caravan and motorhome. He was also a flyball competitor for six years, a Manchester United fan, a dog lover and a beloved family man. He was also a member of the Mobile Caravan Engineerin­g Associatio­n and a Royal Artillery Veteran.

Kevin was a much loved partner of Ann, a loving dad of John Paul, and a dear brother of Lynne and Gerald. He will be very sadly missed by all those who knew him.

A private funeral service will be held for immediate family and close friends only due to the current restrictio­ns. Family flowers only please, but donations are being gratefully received in memory of Kevin for the

Royal Artillery Charity Fund and can be made by phone, by post, or by envelope drop off at the funeral home (Accrington or Oswaldtwis­tle).
