Jab team’s civic honour
THE Mayor of Rossendale has awarded a Certificate of Recognition to the NHS staff and volunteers involved in the borough’s Covid-19 vaccination effort.
The award, on behalf of the Valley public, has gone on display at the Rawtenstall Primary Care Centre.
Mayor Coun Barbara Ashworth said: “I believe that all involved in the process, NHS staff, voluntary organisations and individual volunteers, deserve a huge “thank you” for their contribution to the programme so a Borough of Rossendale Certificate of Recognition has been awarded to them.
“In normal circumstances, I would have presented this in person.
“But due to current restrictions, we worked around this and the certificate was safely handed over by First Responder Andrew Walmsley and accepted by Drs Abdul Mannan and John O’Malley.
“As soon as it is safe to do so, I intend to visit the Hub when a vaccination session is taking place and personally thank as many as possible of those involved.
“Unfortunately I am just a little too young to be in the first of the four groups currently being vaccinated otherwise I could have had a dual purpose visit!”
