RONALD HOWARTH

MR Ronald Bradman Howarth, of Woodcroft Street, Rawtenstal­l, died at Blackburn Hospital on Friday, February 5, aged 90.

He worked as a travelling sales rep for Ashworth & Platt and retired in 1996.

Ronald was a keen cricketer; he played alongside Everton Weekes at BCC then went on to manage the second team.

He was the drummer for a dance band called

The Skylines that played at the old Astoria.

He leaves his wife Mary Howarth, two children Tina and Steven, five grandchild­ren, and three greatgrand­children.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 13, led by David Burrows, departing from the chapel of rest at Fred Hamer, Rawtenstal­l at 12.30pm, for a celebratio­n of life at Burnley Crematoriu­m.
