... but their campaign is incredible hit in Moscow

-

INCREDIBLE Edible (IE) Rossendale organisers were delighted when news of their campaign made its way to Moscow.

They are now hoping to strike up regular links and even hold video conferences with a group based in the Russian capital.

IE Rossendale, which has just over 1,300 followers on Facebook, believe it proves efforts by their founder group in Todmorden to spread their message internationally are bearing fruit.

Secretary Chris Adams said she was “amazed” to find the message she put out about the town square planters being removed, highlighted almost 2,000 miles away.

She said: “Within a day we received this blurb from Moscow with photos of our planters and our volunteers, highlighting our aims and achievements. That was absolutely brilliant that suddenly, within 24 hours, we got this email - first in Russian and then translated.

“The chair of IE in Todmorden contacted us because she had been contacted by this group from Moscow - supported by the British Embassy - saying they were interested in developing links, and wanted to have a conference.

“It amazes us that a country so far should be so interested in what we are doing and gives us hope for the future.”
