LANCASHIRE Police handed out 1,960 Covid-19 fixed penalty notices (FPN) in the first 10 months of the pandemic - but only 28 were in Rossendale.

Nearly three-quarters of the county-wide fines where a gender was recorded were issued to men, according to figures released after a Freedom of Information Act request.

Blackburn with Darwen had the most FPNs, with 161 in November alone. The lowest number was in Fylde, with just five individuals fined in the 10 months to January.
