DIANE PARTINGTON

-

DIANE Partington, aged 73, is and always will be our Queen of Hearts. Always smiling.

Born in Bolton at home,

Mum of three, Hayley, Joanne and Kristopher; Grandmother to Josh and Josef, Lindsay, Molly and Harry, and mother-in-law to Danny and Brian. Diane leaves many, many beautiful members of her family, also many long-lasting dear friends and neighbours, old and new.

Diane began working as a seamstress, making curtains and worked as a shop attendant, dinner lady, a waitress at the Last Drop Village, a bartender and loyal receptionist at Haslingden Sports Centre/Adrenaline Centre for over 35 years of service. Her work colleagues express a great love for Diane. She retired after the loss of her husband Chris. She especially enjoyed baking and cooking, shopping, dancing and singing and days out. She liked sewing and knitting and also loved cleaning! She is the best egg and bacon butty maker in the village. She loved walking her little dog Maisey and caravanning with her sister Elaine and brotherin-law David and their family. She also loved family times in cottages with sister-in-law Shirley and brother-in-law Mark and all their family.

Diane was an eternal mother to all, a carer, a feeder, a giver, a true heart of gold and did not deserve the cruel and shocking diagnosis of tongue cancer and further gall bladder cancer last year.

After a year’s hard struggle of major surgeries and torment Diane succumbed to this, but in her fight she was the bravest and strongest lady, so private and uncomplaining, and fought through with a strength words cannot express.

Diane, our precious loving angel and forever friend, will live in us all for eternity. You loved everybody and you were so very loved by all. We will be forever blessed to be a part of you and to have had you in our lives. Life will simply never be the same without you. Rest well flower pot. We love you to the moon and back. Your ever-loving family xxx

A funeral will be held at 1.40pm on Thursday, August 19, at Accrington Crematorium. Mourners are asked to wear something pink for Diane while afterwards there will be a private invitationonly event to Sykeside Hotel in Haslingden. Flowers and donations to PTSD are most welcome.

Funeral director: Caroline HoldenDewhurst for Johnson, Durning & Woods, Haslingden.
