MR Thomas Watson, of Helmshore, passed away peacefully at Turfcote Nursing Home on Wednesday, August 4, aged 86.

Most of Tom’s working life was spent as a van driver for Holland’s Pies where he retired from, which made way for him to spend more of his time bowling at the Sunnybank Club, which he loved.

A member and past chairman of Helmshore British Legion, Tom was an active member of St Thomas Church, Musbury, where he sang in the choir and was a Church Warden.

He lived in Helmshore all his life, spending his later years at Westbourne where he particularly enjoyed the coffee mornings and participating in the activities. He could often be seen walking around Helmshore chatting to everyone who he met; this goes without saying that he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Husband of the late Barbara, he leaves children Philip, Simon and Helen together with daughter-in-law Mandy along with three grandchildren Callum, Nathan and Calvin.

The funeral service will take place at 1.45pm on Tuesday, August 17, with a service at St Thomas Church, Musbury, Helmshore, followed by a committal at Accrington Crematorium officiated by Fr. David Stephenson.
