A RECORD-BREAKING year for the 12th Rossendale Business Awards saw more nominations for more different businesses than ever before.

Organised by Valley at Work, which connects local businesses, the awards will culminate in an award presentation at The Ashcroft, formerly The Riverside, in Whitworth, in December.

Chair Rob Carder said: “In total 184 businesses were nominated for the Valley at Work Award and 28 individuals were put forward for the Enterprising Person Award and Enterprising Young Person Award.

“To set these numbers in context, 150 is the highest number of businesses we’ve ever had nominated and 241 the most nominations. A huge thank you to everyone who has nominated someone this year, and congratulations to all those who have been nominated.”

Independent judges will now consider all the entries that have been submitted, and draw up a list of finalists for the different categories, to be announced in November.
