Get out and enjoy Valley life
ROSSENDALE Council recently received money from the Welcome Back Fund - set up using money from the
European Regional Development Fund - to support high streets reopening.
The council has used this money to host a series of events over the half-term to encourage people back into town centres.
Among the events, due to take place on Thursday, was ‘Drawn to Rawtenstall’, which encouraged people to indulge in crafts while taking some time for themselves and take in their surroundings at the same time.
It’s a great idea - and
one we should all take inspiration from. It’s a beautiful time of year to live in Rossendale, and if the weather is on our side (a big if, obviously), getting out to enjoy the area before the winter sets in will be good for us all.
For me, few spots offer that more than Whitaker Park in Rawtenstall, a lovely spot to get lost in, and with commanding views across the area and close enough to the town centre to grab a hot drink in afterwards too!
