Lavender Hill mob take steps to collect £1,500

-

CARE home staff, friends and family members raised more than £1,500 to support Alzheimer’s following a 10.6km Memory Walk.

Part of the Millennium Care Group, Lavender Hills’ staff completed the challenge earlier this month in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.

Stacey Astin, registered manager at the Ramsbottom home, said: “Alzheimer’s is a disease incredibly close to our hearts and one which many of our residents live with. To get together as a team and make a positive contribution is incredibly important, and it is something we enjoy doing.”

Alongside the Memory Walk, residents supported the team through several activities, including designing their T-shirts and making mulled wine to welcome back the fundraisers.

Omair Haider, managing director of Millennium Care, said: “We love and encourage these initiatives through our homes. It has been great to see staff members, friends of Lavender Hills and the family members of residents come together to support such a worthwhile cause.”
