RAMSBOTTOM came into this fixture hoping to put an end to their recent torrid run of form, having not won in the past seven games across all competitions and failing to find the back of the net in the previous five in the league.
But they turned in a rampant performance to secure the much-awaited win – and they managed to post four goals past their opponents in the process, through Jamie Rother, and new signings Tom Hartley, Hugo Rodriguez and Sam Twist that sank the Newcastle Town ship.
Rammy started the game with a real urgency and looked hungry for a win.
Their early dominance soon paid off when Jamie Rother put the hosts in front with a lovely side footed finish into the bottom right corner from 18 yards out.
The Rams continued to dominate the half and subsequently went into the break as comfortable leaders at 1-0.
And the control continued into the second half as they doubled their lead on 53 minutes through the returning Tom Hartley.
Hartley weaved his way into the 18-yard area and smashed it into the bottom right hand side giving Owen Mooney no chance – his first goal for the club since 2015.
With a two-goal cushion, the game was looking safe from that point and they took the opportunity to give a debut to new signing Hugo Rodriguez.
It took him just five minutes to make an impact when he put the game out of sight, scoring the Rams’ third of the afternoon with a fabulous headed effort on 71 minutes.
Six minutes later, a third debutant Sam Twist, signed from Salford City, put the final nail into the Newcastle Town coffin when he managed to squeeze one past the outstretched stopper for a

deserved fourth of the afternoon.
Some brilliant link up play with Rodriguez set Twist free down the line and after two bites of the cherry, he found the back of the net.
An utterly dominant performance from Lee Donafee’s side that put an end to their recent run of poor form and results.
They will definitely be hoping that they can build upon such a positive display and begin to push back up the table.
