Police pass recruit target

LANCASHIRE Police say they have exceeded their national target to recruit extra officers, with 307 joining through the police uplift programme by the end of September.

The Constabulary is also one of only eight forces to have recruited more women than men over the last year. Some officers are already on the beat, having completed their initial training, while others are with student development units learning all the skills they need to be able to help local communities.
