Planting for the future

-

AS part of Rossendale council’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint the authority has pledged to plant a tree for every child in the borough over the next three years.

That’s around 16,000 trees and will become part of Rossendale Forest.

In a statement this week, the council said: “We’re going to be announcing the dates and sites where the trees will be planted next week so keep your eyes open.”

The first stage of the project is to plant around 6,000 trees by April 2022.
