ROSSENDALE PROBUS CLUB
PRIOR to our meeting on October 27, our Chairman for the past three years, Margaret Hopkinson, handed over the office to Ray Tunnicliffe.
Margaret volunteered for the job at a critical time and has latterly maintained a momentum which could easily have been lost during the pandemic. The members enthusiastically endorsed tributes made by past Chairman, Peter Barlass.
We were then treated to an absorbing and educational presentation by Neil Tomlinson from the CoOp Legal Services entitled “Tax, Care and Toy Boys”, covering a wide range of topics relating to personal financial management, particularly in later life.
Our next presentation will be on Wednesday, at 10am for 10.30am when local adventurer, Melanie Southworth presents “Everest Climber”, which promises to be a very special occasion.
As always, this will be at Ashday Lea, Haslingden Road, Rawtenstall, BB4 6QX and all are welcome, including non Probus members who have an interest in the subject or would like a taster of our bi monthly meetings.
