THE boss of a nightclub which has opened its doors for the last time says it’s not the end of the brand, with new venues potentially in the pipeline.

Revival in Rawtenstall closed at the end of October with a huge Halloween party, with the Bacup Road building due to be developed into apartments.

The club relaunched at the former Vogue site in December 2018, with plans to stay open for three years. In January, Rossendale council planners backed the redevelopment of the old Picture House’s partial demolition and redevelopment into 42 two-bed apartments. Revival let one of the affected buildings.

Owner Simon KadenSmith, also landlord at The Railway Tavern, said: “It was such a good night and we have been inundated

with messages and comments about Revival being missed.

“We had a great atmosphere all night and being busy from doors opening at 9pm. The Revival brand

grew very quicky and has been very successful. It’s certainly not the end for Revival with potentially two more venues on the way.”

Simon said some local

businesses and taxi drivers have suggested fewer people will now stay in the town centre and it may become quieter.

“We have had lots of people commenting on their frustration that there will be no reason to stay in Rawtenstall,” he said.

“It was a very emotional night with a few speeches from staff and artists on the night.”
