THE Junior Hoops U8 Eagles played their first game at the soccerdome and what a performanc­e they all gave.

The first few minutes saw eagles a little edgy and gave away some daft goals due to a faster pace of game. With new surroundin­gs and rules they had to adapt quickly, once settled down the game flowed end to end. Lewis in goal was kept busy and made some sensationa­l saves and shoewed confidence by great shouting directions to his defence. Connie was strong defence and took on anyone and anything and good passes clearing the ball , Archie is becoming more confident each week with his tackles and again great shouting from him to his team. It was Alfies first game of the season but you wouldn’t have known he made some fantastic tackles and great passes contributi­ng to a few of our goals. Harry once again covered all the pitch and scored 4 goals with some great finishes and his signature celebratio­n.

Lilyanna was contantly moving forward more passing and even having a shot on goal, Lottie came on in defence and changed to midfield and put in some good tackles and helped to move the ball up the pitc.

Riley was man of the match with his best performanc­e to date using his drag back skills from training to get him out of bad situation in

his own area and then going on to score a goal and he got stuck into everything, It was a great performanc­e from all Eagles showing fantastic determinat­ion.

U7 BEARS V HUNCOAT UNITED

WHAT a game right from kick-off; the speed of the game was high and

intense. The bears pushed up and held a solid defensive line. Frank and Zurarah create chances with the 2 Ollies bossing the middle of the park.

Henry came on with a surging run from Alfie created a free kick just outside the area. Henry stepped up and smashed top bins. Closely followed by second where Olly C crossed in to find Henry.

Zurarahs skills on the ball were scaring the other team.

Alfie and Frank were terrorisin­g the defence of Huncoat.

In the second half Theo came out and his trade mark energy and determinat­ion was shining through chasing every ball. Olli slotted in the third from a tight angle closely followed by Zurarah finish off with goal from using his silky footwork

Olli made a show stopping save to keep us in the game and was solid in the net. The team had tremendous high energy brilliant game ...

JUNIOR HOOPS DRAGONS U12’S V PADIHAM U12’S

A GAME of two halves at the Prairie Sports Village. Padiham went into half term 1-0 up after a fantastic free kick from 25 yards out. Padiham’s goalkeeper had made some fantastic saves to keep it at 1-0.

The Hoops came out fighting second half scoring three goals after some fantastic wing play and a long range goal from the back from Jacob. Jacko kept up his goal tally contributi­ng with two, one on his left foot.

That’s six wins on the run now for the Dragons with real progress being seen every week.
