CYCLING DEREK SCHOFIELD

ON Sunday, Patrick Hickey of Rossendale Road Club attended the annual awards ceremony of the North Lancs TTA and, after an incredible season’s racing, came away with plenty of trophies to keep polished during the next year.

The NLTTA is the organising group of the major cycling time trial competitions in the North West, second only to the national series in terms of prestige, and to be the main trophy winner is a great feather in Hickey’s cap.

His achievements included 1st in the 10 mile event with a time of 20:18 min, 1st in the 25 mile event in 51:24, 1st in the Points League

Championship, 2nd in the Best All Rounder and 2nd speed based Best All Rounder.

Hickey is a relative newcomer to the time trialling scene, has a great future in prospect, and is already looking forward to the 2022 season, and the valley club are especially lucky and proud for him to be riding in their colours.
