Railway future is off table for Valley

-

IT’S been amusing this week watching Lancashire County Council insist the county hasn’t been left behind in the Government’s new integrated rail plans.

Make no mistake, this part of Lancashire has been.

We still only have a £50k donation to help build a business case for the reopening of the Rawtenstall line to regular train services, which is very little support really.

And there is precious little for the other existing line in the area – between Blackburn and Leeds.

There has been a lot of political debate over whether Lancashire is getting ‘crumbs off the table.’

Truth be told, in this part of the world, we can’t even see the table.

A sad state of affairs.
