Crash victim cut from car
A CAR crash casualty was cut free by firefighters before being taken to hospital.
The patient was taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service after being involved in a crash on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to Edenfield, near Ramsbottom, at about 10.10am when two vehicles crashed on Blackburn Road.
The road was closed off while the incident was dealt with.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines from Rawtenstall and Ramsbottom attended a road traffic collision on Blackburn Road.
“The incident involved two vehicles. Firefighters used road traffic collision equipment, a longboard, and cutting equipment to release one casualty from their vehicle.
“The casualty was then conveyed to the hospital by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) personnel. Crews were in attendance for approximately one and a half hours.”
