HEARTBREAK­ING tributes have been paid to an ‘adrenaline junkie’ dad who died in hospital three weeks after a road crash.

Clifford Shasby, 56, from Newchurch, died on Friday, November 19, following a collision on Bocholt Way in Rawtenstal­l. In a statement, Mr Shasby’s devastated family said: “Cliff was an avid rock climber, going ice climbing in Norway and the Alps and general adrenaline junkie in life, he was never afraid to try new hobbies. He was a real raconteur with an endless supply of entertaini­ng tales from his adventures.”

HEARTBREAK­ING tributes have been paid to an ‘adrenaline junkie’ dadof-three who died in hospital three weeks after a road crash.

Clifford Shasby, from Newchurch, died on Friday, November 19, following a collision on Bocholt Way in Rawtenstal­l.

Emergency services were called to the incident at 6.50pm on October 27 involving a BMW 520D and a Ducati 748S motorbike.

The 56-year-old motorcycli­st, later named Clifford Shasby, suffered multiple serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

He sadly died on November 19 - more than three weeks after the collision.

Shasby’s devastated family said: “Clifford Shasby, 56, sadly passed away on Friday, 19th November, with his family by his side.

“Cliff was a hard worker, in the building trade since leaving school, he was an avid rock climber, going ice climbing in Norway and the Alps and general adrenaline junkie in life, he was never afraid to try new hobbies.

“Cliff had just finished his latest project, building his own camper van and he had a big love of motorbikes.

“Cliff leaves behind his sons, Ryan, Callum and Cole, his life partner Gemma, brother Mark, sister-in-law Lisa, nieces, Winona, Imogen and Elinor.

“Also, sisters Anona, Elaine, Ann and Jean, their partners, other nieces and nephews and lots of good friends and neighbours, also his beloved cat Savvy.

“Cliff was truly unique, always doing vast amounts of in-depth research for his latest project or task.

“He was a real raconteur with an endless supply of entertaini­ng tales from his adventures.

“Always on the go and creative in many ways, particular­ly musically, a guitar was never far from his hand.

“Cliff will be sadly missed and loved forever by all who had the absolute pleasure of knowing him.

Lancashire Police said enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the collision and we are continuing to appeal for witnesses.

Sgt Steve Hardman, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “These are very sad and tragic circumstan­ces and our thoughts remain with Mr Shasby’s loved ones at this time.

“We are continuing to establish the full circumstan­ces of what led to the collision. If you saw what happened, or have any informatio­n, please contact police.”
