Field gets makeover

WATER Village Trust has been working in partnership with Proffitts – Investing in Communities, Rossendale Borough Council and

Water Primary School to improve the playing field just off Dean Lane.

The playing field had deteriorated in quality with drainage issues, pothole problems and concerns about dog mess and litter increasing.

Frustrated by the lack of recreation space the group worked hard to secure funding, and are now making the changes they need to give their community a safe space to play and socialise outdoors.

The work on site will not be completed until early 2022, but children from year 5 at Water Primary recently braved the rain to plant wildflowers and trees around the site.
