Tree planting cancelled

ROSSENDALE council’s much heralded ‘Rossendale Forest’ scheme has suffered a setback with tree planting events due to be held this weekend having to be postponed.

The council said “supply chain issues” meant they didn’t get delivery of trees this week as planned.

A spokesperson said on their Facebook page: “We’re incredibly disappointed about this and apologise if this causes any inconvenience for anyone.

“We are now planning to have the first planting sessions in early January.”
