Man is hit by car after street fight
A MAN was seriously injured after being hit by a car following a street fight in the early hours.
The 25-year-old was run over in Bolton Street, Ramsbottom at about 1.25am on Saturday, December 4.
Police said moments earlier he had been ‘involved in an altercation in the street with three other males resulting in a passing car, a blue Ford Fiesta, colliding with the victim causing serious injuries.’
Three men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.
A 28-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving offences and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has now been bailed.
A 25-year-old and 28-year-old arrested on suspicion of assault have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Another 25-year-old man has been released with no further action.
A large police cordon remained in place in Ramsbottom town centre on Saturday morning, stretching from Callender Street to Carr Street.
Forensics officers were at the scene.
