Aaron wings way to Rams
RAMSBOTTOM United boss Lee Donaffe has boosted his attacking options with the signing of winger Aaron Fleming. The 26-year-old joins the Rams from North West Counties side Barnoldswick Town, where he made nine appearances, scoring six goals this season having joined from Macclesfield FC in October.
Fleming began his career in his hometown club Blackpool FC before moving to AFC Fylde in the summer of 2014.
After leaving Mill Farm, Aaron gained experience at a number of clubs in the Northern Premier League and North West Counties including Bamber Bridge, Padiham, Kendal Town and Prescot Cables.
He also had a spell at Rammy during the start of the 2017/18 under Mark Fell although he didn’t make a competitive appearance for the club.
Upon his signing, Rams manager Lee Donafee said: “We have signed Aaron, who has been in great form for Barnoldswick this season.
“Aaron was with the Rams briefly a few seasons ago and wanted to come back to prove a point with us.
“We had the chance to sign him earlier in the season but we had a few players in that position so it wasn’t the right time for him but he was still on our radar and we are delighted to get him now.”
Following Saturday’s postponement of the NPL match with Clitheroe – this match has now been rearranged for Saturday 12th February 2022 with a 3pm kick-off at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium.
