Bedtime boost for heart health

Going to bed between 10pm and 11pm may lower your risk of heart disease.

Exeter University researchers examined 88,000 volunteers and found people who go to sleep during those 60 minutes have less heart disease than people who go to bed earlier or later.

The experts believe there’s a cardioprotective effect in synchronising your sleep to match your internal body clock, which explains the lowered risk of heart attacks and strokes.

While the UK’s Covid-19 vaccine drive is going well, in lower income countries only one in 13 are jabbed. This Christmas, the Go Give One campaign (gogiveone.org), launched by the WHO Foundation aims to get 50m people to give £4 to buy a vaccine for someone who wouldn’t otherwise have access to one.
