Donations galore on Santa’s tractor

ACHARITY Santa tractor ride raised festive spirits and generous donations for a Valley foodbank.

Adam Scott, of Fishrake Farm in Edenfield, thought that it would be nice to do something special for the village this Christmas.

He organised a convoy of tractors decorated with lights, and bearing Santa around the village on a trailer - in exchange for food and cash donations for Rawtenstall’s Raft Foundation.

Adam was joined by gardener Paul Worthington, farrier Garry Clarke, agricultural contractor Alex Boyden and Andrew Rothwell, of Sheep Hey Farm, for the event.

The following day he and fiancée Emma Leach delivered all the food to the foodbank.

Adam said: “We had an overwhelming response from the village and ended

up with a full trailer of food.

“We ended at the church, carol singing.”

Raft treasurer Ged Greenhalgh sent the Edenfield Santa Tractor Ride

participants and contributors a thank-you letter for their “fantastic” efforts.
