- ROSSENDALE RAMBLERS

IN a complete change from the previous week, our walks this week were blessed with brilliant sunny weather.

On Wednesday, December 15, 16 ramblers enjoyed a nine-mile rural ramble near the now closed Camelot theme park.

Apart from mud, the main feature of this walk was four different woods: Big Wood, Little Wood, a wood with no name, and Dam Wood.

Then on Saturday, December 18, 17 walkers and two dogs had a lovely two-hour pub walk from Stacksteads, including an impressive sculpture – Ferroterrasaurus – in Lee Quarry.

After the walk, 10 of the group tucked into an excellent lunch at the Rose ‘N’ Bowl, home of the World Gravy Wrestling Championships! We have no walks over the festive period, but we are out again on Wednesday, January 5, and Sunday,

January 9, for 10 and 6 miles respectively.

Full details will be given in our next bulletin.

These walks are free, but after three walks with us we ask you to join The Ramblers, at a cost of only £3.05 per month.
