BYPASS SHUT

THE A56 Haslingden Bypass was shut in both directions between the A682 and the A680 on Friday, December 17, following a ‘major incident’ first reported at around 9.15pm.

Queues backed up towards the M66 for drivers heading north from Bury.

Police said it reopened at around 11pm.
