THEFTS WARNING

RESIDENTS have been warned of a spate of shed burglaries particularly around the Pennine Road area of Bacup.

Rossendale Police said extra measures such as door alarms can be fitted to go off should someone force open a door.

Posting on the force’s Facebook page, Insp Chris Valentine said: “Unfortunately people rely on very poor quality locks to secure sheds which sometimes house expensive tools or bikes.

“Please make sure your security is appropriate enough to protect the contents.”

He added patrols will be stepped up around the area. Report suspicious activity using 101 (or 999 for a crime in progress).
