HEALTH NOTE
Catching up on shuteye over the weekend can encourage poor sleep cycles.
Stephanie Romiszewski, consultant sleep physiologist for Holland and Barrett, says: “If you find yourself relying on this behaviour and it forms a pattern, it’s probably reinforcing the very reason you do it in the first place.”
In winter, light helps regulate appetite, mood and your sleepwake cycle. So get some daylight in the morning and dim the lights at night.
“Exercise is good at shaking off fatigue. It can lift your mood too,” says Stephanie.
Breakfast and a morning coffee also helps regulate your body clock.
