Sign up to CCTV scheme

LANCASHIRE Police has asked residents to sign up to a new scheme that will give them access to private CCTV footage - in a bid to help solve future cases quicker.

The public, businesses and organisations in Lancashire can register their CCTV for information sharing with Lancashire Constabulary when crimes are committed.

The force uses a system called NICE Investigate which manages the digital evidence relating to crimes and now with the addition of thousands of more footage from locals, leading to solving crimes quicker. More than 300 Lancashire organisations and individuals are registered too, totalling more than 1,100 cameras.
