‘Very lucky’ driver - police

POLICE said a “very lucky” driver was right on the drink-drive legal limit after being stopped at a checkpoint in Whitworth.

Rossendale Rural Task Force stopped vehicles last Wednesday - and said everyone else “blew zero”.

The Rossendale Police Facebook page said: “The ‘one’ was very lucky, providing a sample right on the limit. He said afterwards how he thought his life would be over as he would lose his job which is dependant on driving. There have been several offences reported which are no seat belt, no MOT, speeding and possession of cannabis.”
