PETER DEMPSEY

MR Peter Vincent Dempsey, of Abbeycroft Nursing Home, Loveclough, died on Wednesday, December

29, aged 88.

He was retired from being the caretaker at Staghills Nursery, Newchurch, affectionately known as the happy whistler. Peter loved to sing and listen to classical music, with fond memories of Ireland.

He leaves his late wife Irene, children; Shaun, Lynne, Kevin, and Roy, grandchildren, Sally, Matt, Cathy, Lee, Hannah, Hollie, and Luke, great-grandchildren; Max and Owen, and many nephews and nieces.

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 11, led by Father Tony McBride, at St James the Less Church, Rawtenstall at 11am, followed by interment at Rawtenstall Cemetery.

Family flowers only, with kind donations to Rossendale Hospice.
