Civic team plant the seeds of pride

-

CIVIC Pride Rossendale were blooming chuffed when they were offered funding for planters for Waterfoot and Crawshawbooth.

Matthew Kendall, of Lifestyle by Homecare Services, had been inspired to offer support - after seeing the planters in Rawtenstall town centre.

Volunteer teams took on the logistics of deciding what sort of planters were required, where they should be placed, deliveries, and sourcing and purchasing of plants to ensure a special Spring display.

The Waterfoot planters were in place just before Christmas with help from Ian and Liz Hoskin and Charlotte Hocking, and the Crawshawbooth one was completed this week with help from Roger and Sue Shuttleworth, Janet Hoyle, Jenny Sunderland, Peter and Anne.

Positioned in front of the community library in Crawshawbooth and by the mini-roundabout in the centre of Waterfoot, they will be looked after by Civic Pride volunteers and will bring colourful displays when people are walking or driving past.
