Engineering top honour

AN apprentice from Bacup has been honoured with an award from The Welding Institute.

Burnley College’s Georgina Cross, 21, is working towards a HNC in Mechanical Production.

Georgina, who is employed at Burnley’s Paradigm Precision, was one of six Themis Apprentices from the college honoured in the TWI Awards at Crow Wood Hotel & Spa resort.

Hannah Cutler, head of the centre for advanced manufacturing and engineering excellence at Burnley College, said: “It is great to see them recognised for their dedication, their outstanding skills and knowledge and their innovation.”
